GHK-COPPER (GHK-Cu): The Skin Peptide

Educational purposes only. Not medical advice. Individual results vary.

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that can act as signaling molecules in the body. GHK-Cu, also known as copper tripeptide-1, is a naturally occurring peptide made from three amino acids bound to copper. It is commonly referred to as a copper peptide.

Researchers have been studying GHK-Cu for its potential role in skin health, hair follicle health, wound healing, and connective tissue. Research suggests that GHK-Cu may influence processes involved in collagen production and remodeling, which are important for maintaining healthy skin and connective tissue.

Because of these properties, GHK-Cu has attracted interest in the areas of skin appearance, tissue repair, and healthy aging. However, much of the research is still preliminary, and the evidence varies depending on how GHK-Cu is administered and what it is being used for.

Compounded GHK-Cu products are not FDA-approved drugs. Compounded drugs are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are marketed.

If you're considering GHK-Cu or another peptide-based therapy, talk with a qualified healthcare professional about the potential benefits, risks, alternatives, and whether it is appropriate for you.
